JOIN OUR CREW
OC Habitats has many opportunities for you to get involved!
Want to learn more about the habitats around you? This program is for you. Currently our big focus is the coastal dune habitat (beaches) but we will expand to other habitats as we grow. We welcome those who love to be outside, to walk/hike, and are interested in habitat conservation and species protection. Science backgrounds are great but not required.
HABITAT EDUCATOR, NATURALIST, AND DOCENT
Education is the backbone of our mission at OCH. We want to educate, enlighten, and inspire by sharing our knowledge and passion on to others to ensure that the natural places of OC (and everywhere) are preserved and restored for the future of all species human and nonhuman. We work with all ages in this program and welcome those that have experience but more importantly a passion for the environment.
OCH has regular and ongoing restoration projects around Orange County in partnership with OC Parks, Huntington Beach Wetlands Conservancy, and Project Grow. We are always looking for individuals who are passionate for restoration work and any experience or background knowledge in restoration ecology is a plus but not required.
OCH NEXTGEN VOLUNTEER (AGES 12-18)
Are you in middle or high school? We have a stewardship program for you. OCH schedules at least one event per month doing different habitat conservation, restoration, and outreach programs. These programs are one-day only events and do not require any special training. OCH happily signs for volunteer hours with your service organizations or schools.
